DETAILS

Designed specifically as an observation and liaison aircraft the Cessna L-19 received its name 'Bird Dog as a result of its intended role, which was to find the enemy and orbit overhead until artillery or attack aircraft could be brought to bear, i.e. in much the same way as a gun dog. Introduced in 1950 and retired in 1974 the Bird Dog had a lengthy career, most notably serving in the Vietnam War

Seagull s evocative rendition of the military war horse faithfully captures the spirit of the aircraft in laser-cut balsa and ply, covered, as always, in beautifully applied Oracover film. Suitable for 35 to 40cc engines (or equivalent electric power) the L-19 s impressive 98 wingspan and rugged utility looks give it incredible authenticity. Without question, it s a model that will turn heads wherever you fly it.
